Violent percussive bass. Obviously fake. But still deadly. Crushing base.
For this sound, I used the Alpha Juno template from the Uhe Diva synth. The Alpha can sound fantastically cheap if well used.
The base of the sound is a “dramatic” chorus applied to the sound. I make it deep. On a more advanced chorus, I would have used the cross-over feature, as one can find on the Virus TI chorus for instance.
The plastic effect is mostly done from the rest of the chain is supported by a short Filter envelope with lots of depth and a square bass without PWM.
For making the sound less clear but really percussive, I used a stack of 2 with a lot of detune, to get my home made Dual unison mode.
Some people call it a Chicago Bass too, as seen in this tutorial, which is consider myself a spin of the UK Garage Bass as Ben Crosland shows us in this video.
